Take the lead on a diverse range of building structures projects with a globally recognised Consultancy. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Structural Engineer to join an established multidisciplinary Consultancy with offices in both Cardiff and Swansea. With a strong and growing workload across South Wales and the South West, they're looking for an ambitious engineer who's ready to take on more responsibility, lead projects and continue developing their career within one of the industry's most respected businesses.

You’ll join a highly collaborative Buildings team delivering projects across a wide range of sectors including education, commercial, industrial, residential, defence, energy and transportation. Working alongside Architects, Civil Engineers, Building Services Engineers and other specialists, you'll play a key role in delivering innovative and sustainable structural solutions from concept through to construction.

The role offers plenty of variety, giving you the opportunity to lead your own projects as well as contribute to larger multidisciplinary schemes across the UK. You’ll take responsibility for delivering projects on programme and within budget, producing high-quality structural designs using steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry, while ensuring compliance with current design standards, BIM processes and project requirements. You’ll also be the main point of contact for clients, contractors and design teams, building strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

Alongside your technical responsibilities, you’ll have the opportunity to mentor and support junior engineers, manage small project teams and help develop client relationships while identifying future opportunities for the business. It's an ideal position for someone who enjoys combining hands-on engineering with project leadership and client interaction.

We’re looking for someone with experience delivering building structures projects from concept through to construction, who is working towards Chartered status with either IStructE or ICE. You’ll have a solid understanding of structural design using traditional materials, experience leading smaller project teams and confidence communicating with clients and multidisciplinary design teams. Experience with Tekla Structural Designer or Robot Structural Analysis would be advantageous, although a proactive attitude, strong technical ability and leadership potential are just as important.

In return, you’ll join a Consultancy that's well known for investing in its people, offering structured Chartership support, hybrid working, excellent professional development opportunities and the chance to work on a wide variety of technically challenging projects across South Wales and beyond. Whether you’re looking to strengthen your technical expertise, develop your leadership skills or progress towards Principal level, you’ll be supported every step of the way.
