A vacancy for a CAD Technician with Highways design experience is now available in Newcastle City Centre with a Specialist Transport Planning consultancy. They require a CAD Technician with experience of AutoTrack as well.
You will need to have experience of designing T-Junctions, Large Roundabouts, and also running SWEPT Path assessments in order to ensure developments are accessible. Having some prior experience of basic highways design is essential but by no means do you need to have extensive expertise.
You will be part of a team delivering Transport Plans to clients across the Country, working on residential, commercial, sport & Leisure and much more and be in the office with the whole team every day all working to the same goal.
CAD Technician Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing highway design solutions for our clients in the private and public sectors.
- Developing excellent and effective collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, external providers and other agencies
- Responsible for the completion of assigned tasks to budget and programme
- Preparing reports, drawings, schedules, cost estimates and other documents
- Assisting senior members with monthly programme and financial reporting.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Office software packages
- Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD
- Working experience / understanding of ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG (Beneficial)
- Good levels of numeracy, including a good understanding of spreadsheets.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to clearly communicate findings from complex data
- Ability to work easily and accurately with numbers
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and ability to manage own workload
- Approachable and professional manner when dealing with colleagues and clients
- Hold a valid UK driving licence.
