Senior Structural Engineer in Bramley, Rotherham

Our client is an established and progressive multidisciplinary engineering Consultancy who are looking to add a Senior Structural Engineer to join their growing design team. The role is based in South Yorkshire, with the office located just off the motorway, offering excellent transport links and free on-site parking, providing a highly accessible working location.

The Consultancy delivers integrated civil and structural engineering solutions across a broad range of sectors, working collaboratively with clients, architects and contractors to deliver practical, efficient and technically robust designs. Projects span commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, rail and infrastructure-related developments, ranging from bespoke small-scale schemes to large and complex structures. The business places strong emphasis on engineering quality, professional integrity and the application of sound engineering judgement.

In this role you will be responsible for the design, analysis and delivery of structural solutions in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry, supporting projects from feasibility and concept through to detailed design and construction. The role will involve preparing, checking and reviewing calculations, reports and technical specifications in accordance with current standards, codes of practice and industry guidance, while ensuring designs are safe, efficient, buildable and appropriately risk-managed.

Experience in building structures is essential, with exposure to civil engineering elements such as foundations, substructures, retaining walls and site-wide coordination considered advantageous. The role requires a strong understanding of structural behaviour and design principles, with the ability to clearly communicate technical intent and engineering rationale to internal teams, clients and external stakeholders.

The role will suit an Engineer who is working towards or close to achieving Chartered status with the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE). Candidates with ICE Chartered status or those on an ICE pathway will also be considered, provided there is a clear intention to progress towards IStructE chartership. The successful candidate will demonstrate professional competence, commitment to ethical practice and engagement with ongoing continuing professional development.

Operating at Senior level, you will take technical responsibility for projects, support and mentor junior engineers, contribute to design reviews and assist in maintaining high technical and quality standards across the Consultancy. The role offers scope for continued professional development and progression within a supportive and technically focused environment.
