Location: Bournemouth / Poole / East Dorset

Salary: Up to £43,000 basic + overtime + benefits

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing Refrigeration & Air Conditioning contractor looking to add an experienced engineer to their team. This is a field-based role covering service, maintenance, and installation work across the Bournemouth, Poole, and East Dorset area, offering strong earning potential through overtime and commission.

Package & Benefits

  • Basic salary up to £43,000 per annum (depending on experience)
  • Company van and tools provided (van available for domestic use)
  • Pension scheme
  • Work phone provided
  • Overtime paid at enhanced rates:
    • Time and a half for travel before 8:00am and after 5:30pm
    • Time and a half for site work outside 8:30am-5:00pm
    • Double time between 10:00pm-6:00am
    • Saturdays: time and a half
    • Sundays: double time
  • Call-out rota (1 in 4):
    • £10 standby per weekday evening
    • £75 standby per weekend
    • Bank holidays: £75 standby plus double time
  • 5% commission on new customer sales introduced by the engineer (valid for 12 months)

Working Hours

  • On-site hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm
  • 30-minute unpaid break
  • 30-minute unpaid travel allowance each way

Role Responsibilities

Refrigeration

  • Reactive service and breakdown calls, including high temperature alarms
  • Installation of chiller and freezer room systems
  • Installation of beer cellar systems
  • Installation of remote shop display units
  • Planned preventative maintenance on refrigeration equipment

Air Conditioning

  • Reactive fault finding and repair
  • Installation of air conditioning systems
  • Planned preventative maintenance on air conditioning equipment

Holiday & Sickness

  • 5.6 weeks holiday per year (22 days plus bank holidays)
  • 10 days paid sickness after 12 months' service

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience in refrigeration and air conditioning
  • Strong fault-finding and customer-facing skills
  • Comfortable working on service, maintenance, and installations
  • Willing to take part in an on-call rota
