An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Structural Engineer to join a leading, employee-owned Consultancy in the heart of Birmingham. As part of the continued growth of its multidisciplinary Birmingham office, the Consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced structural engineering leader who can play a key role in shaping the future of the team, supporting both project delivery and business growth across the Midlands.

Their Birmingham office has delivered a number of significant projects throughout the region, including major healthcare, commercial and regeneration developments, and continues to build on an impressive portfolio of work. With a strong pipeline of projects secured, the team is working on a diverse range of multi-million-pound schemes across education, healthcare, residential development, commercial and urban regeneration sectors, providing a technically varied and rewarding workload.

The successful candidate will take a leading role within the structures team, overseeing the delivery of complex projects from concept through to completion while working closely with clients, architects and multidisciplinary design teams. You will be responsible for maintaining high technical standards, managing project performance and ensuring successful outcomes for both clients and the wider project team.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced Structural Engineer who enjoys balancing technical excellence with leadership responsibilities. Alongside leading projects, you will help develop and mentor Engineers and Technicians, contribute to resource planning and support the continued growth of the Birmingham office. Strong client-facing skills will be essential, as you will play a key role in developing existing relationships, winning repeat business and helping to identify new opportunities across the region.

Working within a highly collaborative multidisciplinary environment, you will have the opportunity to contribute to projects that positively impact communities throughout the Midlands and beyond. The Consultancy is committed to delivering sustainable, innovative and practical engineering solutions, creating an environment where technical quality and forward-thinking design are highly valued.

You will ideally be Chartered with the ICE or IStructE and possess a proven track record within a Consultancy environment. You will have experience leading project teams, managing client relationships and delivering structural engineering projects across a variety of sectors. Equally important will be your ability to inspire and develop others, helping to build a positive and high-performing team culture.
