An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HVAC / Commercial Gas Supervisor to join one of the country's leading Facilities Management companies, working across a large estate throughout Kent and the surrounding areas. The role is ideally suited to candidates based in or around Maidstone, Kent, with regular travel required across the wider region.

The successful candidate will have a strong HVAC and Commercial Gas engineering background, with previous experience supervising and leading a technical maintenance team. You will have a good understanding of PPM, reactive maintenance and compliance within an FM environment, with the ability to provide technical support and guidance to engineers across the estate.

The role will involve planning and leading HVAC and gas teams to ensure all planned, reactive and testing works are completed to the required standard, within agreed timescales and in line with all regulatory, customer and company requirements. You will act as a key technical point of contact for F-Gas compliance, supporting engineers with technical guidance and training, while working closely with the customer, internal teams and regional engineers to ensure a high standard of service delivery.

Duties:

  • Supervise and lead regional HVAC, gas and maintenance teams, ensuring all PPM, reactive and testing works are completed to the required standard.
  • Provide technical support, advice and coaching to Regional Site and Maintenance Technicians.
  • Ensure all sites are adequately covered for planned and reactive maintenance services.
  • Provide technical support across HVAC and Commercial Gas systems and equipment.
  • Act as the technical expert for F-Gas compliance and ensure all relevant obligations and standards are maintained.
  • Support engineers with technical training, development and guidance where required.
  • Monitor team and contract performance against agreed KPI's and implement action plans where underperformance is identified.
  • Work closely with the Divisional Account Manager on technical, people and FM-related issues.
  • Provide management cover for the Divisional Account Manager during periods of absence, holidays and meetings where required.
  • Complete all required reports, compliance documentation and audits, taking appropriate action where issues or non-compliance are identified.
  • Ensure all maintenance and FM documentation is accurate, complete and maintained to the required standard.
  • Respond promptly to Help Desk calls and ensure issues are resolved effectively, escalating where necessary.
  • Maintain regular communication with the customer regarding all FM and maintenance activity.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the customer, internal teams and regional engineers.
  • Support the recruitment and selection process for Technician vacancies.
  • Identify opportunities for additional works and business development within agreed budgets.
  • Support the management of capital plans and projects, ensuring works are properly scoped, delivered to specification and completed within budget.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, Health & Safety legislation and customer requirements.
  • Manage and monitor the performance of the technical team, supporting continuous improvement and development.
  • Represent the company professionally at all times.
  • Carry out any other reasonable management duties as required.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Strong HVAC and Commercial Gas engineering background.
  • Relevant HVAC and/or Commercial Gas qualifications.
  • Commercial Gas experience and relevant ACS qualifications would be highly desirable.
  • F-Gas knowledge and experience.
  • Previous experience supervising or managing a technical maintenance team is essential.
  • Strong understanding of PPM, reactive maintenance and compliance within a Facilities Management environment.
  • Experience working within a multi-site or multi-client FM environment would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of mechanical plant and equipment, including fans, pumps, compressors and associated HVAC systems.
  • Strong Health & Safety and compliance awareness.
  • Experience working with CAFM systems and extracting, collating and presenting performance data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning, organisation, prioritisation and project management skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and decision making.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage work within agreed budgets.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Salary / Package:

  • £57,989 per annum
  • Monday to Friday - 45 hours per week
  • Mobile role covering Kent, South of the M4 and as far west as Bournemouth
  • Technical leadership and development opportunities
