A leading independent transport and infrastructure consultancy is seeking a Senior Transport Planner to join its growing team in Woking. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of development planning projects, supporting schemes from early-stage strategy through to planning consent and delivery. The Role
You will play a key role in delivering transport planning projects across the development lifecycle, with an initial focus on development planning and masterplanning support. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing technical reports including:
- Transport Assessments
- Transport Statements
- Travel Plans
- Access Appraisals
- WCHAR / ATZ assessments
- Undertaking junction capacity modelling (e.g. Arcady/Picady)
- Supporting preliminary design work, including swept path analysis
- Liaising with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams
- Representing projects at meetings, consultations, and public events
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate
Candidate Requirements
We are looking for a motivated and commercially aware transport planner who can manage their own workload and contribute to project delivery.
Essential
- Minimum 2 years' UK transport planning experience
- Strong report writing and analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Experience with TRICS, TemPro, and Junctions 9
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Desirable
- Experience with LinSig, GIS, or microsimulation tools
- CAD capability
- Progress towards or achievement of TPS PDS (or equivalent)
- Relevant degree (e.g. Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, Planning)
