An independent MEP and sustainability consultancy with multiple offices is looking to appoint a Principal Electrical Engineer to strengthen their electrical team in London. The business has grown significantly over recent years and now operates with a combined team of around 40 engineers across both offices, working from a single shared project list and delegating across teams based on skillset. Their work spans a strong portfolio of education, science and research, and decarbonisation projects – sectors they are selective about and genuinely passionate in. The Role
- Lead electrical design across a range of building services projects from early concept through to completion.
- Produce and review technical deliverables including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Mentor and support junior engineers within the electrical team.
- Contribute to the practice's low-carbon and net-zero design approach across all projects.
About You
- Demonstrable experience at Principal or Senior Electrical Engineer level within a building services consultancy.
- Strong technical grounding across LV power distribution, lighting design, fire alarms, and general building services electrical systems.
- Experience within education, science and research, or similarly complex sectors is advantageous.
- Proficiency in relevant design tools – Amtech, Dialux, and Revit/BIM (beneficial).
- Chartered or working towards chartership with IET or CIBSE.
- Collaborative approach and genuine alignment with a sustainability-led, people-first culture.
