An established, global Engineering and Environmental Consultancy is looking to strengthen its growing flood risk and water team in London with the addition of a Flood Modeller at Consultant or Engineer level. The role sits within a collaborative and well‑established water team, supporting the delivery of flood risk, drainage and wider water engineering projects. You will be involved across the project lifecycle, from early‑stage optioneering through to detailed design, contributing to schemes that range from development‑led work through to larger infrastructure and environmental projects.
Responsibilities and Projects
- Support the development and application of hydraulic and hydrological models, helping to assess flood risk and inform design solutions.
- Build and run models, interpret outputs and contribute to clear, well‑structured technical reports.
- Assist in the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies, with exposure to SuDS and wider sustainable water management approaches.
- Work closely with more senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, gaining broad project exposure while developing your own technical capability.
- Get involved in projects that consider the interaction between flood risk, drainage and wastewater systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a degree in a relevant discipline.
- Have some experience within flood risk, hydraulic modelling or water engineering.
- Exposure to software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW or InfoWorksICM, and an understanding of UK hydrological methods such as FEH and the planning and regulatory environment.
- Experience with GIS tools such as ArcGIS and an appreciation of drainage design principles.
