An exciting opportunity has arisen with a leading engineering and design consultancy to join its Leeds office. Working as part of a nationally recognised Building Design team, you will contribute to the delivery of high-profile projects across sectors including education, defence, aviation, public realm and commercial development, helping shape the infrastructure that supports some of the UK’s most complex and prestigious schemes.
The role sees you working closely with Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers, Architects, Building Services Engineers and other multidisciplinary specialists to deliver coordinated, sustainable and technically robust design solutions. You will support projects from early feasibility and concept development through to detailed design, technical approvals and construction support, providing exposure across the full project lifecycle.
Typical projects include the design and coordination of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), drainage networks, external works, hard landscaping, access roads, car parks, utilities and associated infrastructure. You will also support planning submissions, statutory approvals and technical consents, ensuring projects progress efficiently at each stage.
Within a technically focused design environment, you will be responsible for producing high-quality engineering designs in accordance with relevant standards, codes and best practice guidance. The role offers involvement in drainage, earthworks, access, construction logistics and public realm infrastructure, providing a platform for developing technical and project delivery skills.
As part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will manage your own workload while working with colleagues across multiple disciplines to deliver efficient and practical engineering solutions. You will also contribute to projects delivered in accordance with BIM standards, Digital Plans of Work and project-specific BIM Execution Plans, gaining exposure to digital engineering and project delivery.

Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or HND or equivalent industry experience considered)
- Working towards Chartered status with the ICE
- Experience in the design and analysis of drainage systems, highways, external works, utilities, earthworks and associated infrastructure
- Good understanding of current UK design standards and approval processes
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D (essential)
- Knowledge of drainage design software such as InfoDrainage or Flow (highly advantageous)
- Ability to undertake Swept Path Analysis within AutoCAD (beneficial)
- Exposure to Revit, BIM360 and wider BIM environments (welcomed)
Soft Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Involved in technical reporting, coordination with multidisciplinary teams and engagement with clients and stakeholders
