An established building services and sustainability consultancy is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated BREEAM Assessor to join its growing sustainability team. The business delivers integrated engineering and low carbon consultancy services across a broad range of sectors including commercial, industrial, education, residential, healthcare, and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting sustainable design strategies and environmental certification delivery across projects throughout the UK. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver BREEAM assessments from pre-assessment through to final certification
  • Prepare, coordinate, and review evidence submissions in line with BRE requirements
  • Provide sustainability advice to clients, contractors, architects, and project teams
  • Support project teams in achieving targeted BREEAM ratings
  • Review drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation
  • Attend client meetings, design workshops, and site visits where required
  • Assist with wider sustainability and low carbon consultancy services
  • Monitor project progress against environmental and sustainability objectives
  • Produce high-quality technical reports and assessment documentation
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of BREEAM standards, legislation, and industry best practice

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Licensed BREEAM Assessor accreditation
  • Experience delivering BREEAM assessments within the UK construction industry
  • Strong understanding of sustainable building design and environmental legislation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages

Desirable

  • BREEAM AP qualification
  • Experience within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment
  • Knowledge of low carbon design principles and energy strategies
  • Familiarity with: One ClickLCA, IES VE, Energy modelling software, Embodied carbon assessments
  • Degree qualified in Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Building Services, Construction, or related discipline
