I am looking to speak with a Geotechnical Engineer with either detailed design or preliminary design experience now looking to move into an environment that can offer training/development on extremely complex design projects across rail, highways, buildings, and bridges.

You will be working for an award-winning SME multi-disciplinary design consultancy with multiple offices throughout the UK and a team that boasts a wide range of chartered engineers across Geotechnical, Civil, and Structures.

The technical and commercial duties as a Geotechnical Engineer are extremely varied and will offer exposure in the management of projects from inception through to completion. Responsibilities include interpretation and design of the following: slope assessments, soil interpretation, pile design, settlement, slope stability, soil nailing, rock engineering, shallow and deep footings, embankments, retaining walls, soil nailing, reviewing ground risk, and technical support on ground risk.

The ideal Geotechnical Engineer (Intermediate-Senior) should be able to provide evidence of:

  • MEng/BEng in Civil Engineering, Geology, or similar. Ideally an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or Soil Mechanics.
  • Design delivery of the geotechnical elements of existing and future projects.
  • Carry out inspection work, feasibility studies, report preparation, and cost estimating.
  • Prepare design calculations, drawings, technical documents, and project reports ensuring compliance with current standards.
  • Strong knowledge and experience within industry standard geotechnical and numerical software packages (ideally).
  • Preparing, checking, and reviewing a wide range of technical reports including Desk Studies, Interpretative, and Design reports.
