A highly regarded, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a national presence is looking to appoint a Sustainability Consultant to join their growing team in Bristol. The business is widely recognised as an industry leader in sustainable design, with a Sustainability group embedded across every office in their network. Their approach is innovative and ambitious, operating at the forefront of environmental consultancy – from complex energy modelling and whole life carbon assessments through to BREEAM, WELL, and HQM certifications across a broad range of sectors and project types.
You will work across a varied portfolio of projects, taking a hands‑on role in the delivery of sustainability strategies and environmental assessments from early design stages through to completion. Responsibilities will span:
- Development and delivery of holistic sustainability strategies
- Energy performance modelling and building performance simulation (including operational energy and overheating)
- Embodied carbon calculations and circular economy consultancy
- Production of planning documents including sustainability statements, energy statements, whole life carbon reports, and circular economy statements
- Supporting the development of net zero carbon strategies for new and existing developments
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members across work‑stream delivery
About You
- Experience working within a sustainability or engineering consultancy in the built environment sector.
- Degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline.
- Technical competence across one or more of: energy performance modelling (PartL, NABERS, ApacheHVAC, Passivhaus), whole life carbon assessment (OneClick or similar), or net zero carbon strategy.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage clients and design teams effectively.
- A genuine passion for sustainability and a drive to deliver real environmental outcomes.
