Field Services Engineer in Glasgow

Our company specialises in laboratory test instrumentation sales and service, based in central Scotland and operating throughout the UK. We provide engineering support services in healthcare, life sciences, food & drink, pharmaceutical industry, oil & gas, and renewables.

The Role

Customer‑focused Internal / Field Service Engineer. Internal duties include in‑house stock management (ordering/shipping), instrument maintenance and testing at the BioCity laboratory. External travel to customer sites across Scotland and the UK involves installation, fault finding/repair, preventative maintenance and performance verification testing of High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC) and Mass Spectrophotometry (MS) systems.

Requirements

• Essential – Minimum 3 years’ laboratory experience with HPLC, GC, GCMS and/or LCMS.
• Essential – Full UK driving licence.
• Essential – Ability to work independently and communicate effectively at all levels with external customers and internal staff.
• Essential – Strong troubleshooting skills and experience fixing or maintaining electrical/mechanical/lab equipment.
• Strong Preference – Experience in a GXP or compliant analytical laboratory environment.
• Preferred – Field service engineer experience in chromatography.
• Preferred – Education with an HNC, HND or BSc in an engineering or life science discipline.
