This is a full-time remote role for a Microbiological Safety Cabinet and LEV Technician to join our Clean Air Team. The Technician will be responsible for conducting testing and inspection at client sites, troubleshooting, and repairing systems as necessary, and preparing accurate reports and documentation of system performance. Client sites are in the higher education, medical research and healthcare sectors - predominantly around London and the Southeast.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled service, preventative maintenance, and verification on various makes/models of Microbiological Safety cabinets (MSC’S) and other associated laboratory equipment.
  • Perform thorough examination and test of LEV (Local Exhausted Ventilation Systems).
  • Capture and retain technical knowledge from an experienced Field Service Engineer to ensure continuity of expertise.
  • Manage service visits across the UK but mainly within the London and Southeast area, including regular travel and some short-notice requirements.
  • Produce accurate service reports and relevant documentation following all site visits and activities.
  • Complete accurate expense accounting related to travel and service visits.
  • Use service-related software tools, manage instrument files, and support customers in resolving issues where relevant.
  • Identify and escalate potential business opportunities discovered during customer visits.

Education/Experience:

  • Combination of Technical Qualification and 3 years’ experience in a field service role required.
  • Preferred experience with Microbiological Safety Cabinets (MSC’s) and associated laboratory equipment.
  • Experience with LEV systems (Local Exhausted Ventilated Systems) with P601 certification highly advantageous.

Hybrid role including:

  • Customer laboratory settings – Pharmaceutical
  • Customer laboratory settings – Chemical e.g. factory / refinery
  • In-house laboratory – Light industrial / chemical
  • In-house training center – Light lab / warehouse / office

Physical Demands:

  • Some long-distance driving.
  • Physical work including: Lifting light equipment and manual handling, Instrument / machine disassembly, leaning over, behind and under or on top of lab benches for access, Occasional working at height, including roof work of buildings.
  • Occasional overnight stays away from home.
