Our client is an ambitious, fast-growing Insurtech business, transforming the Specialty Insurance market through innovative Policy Administration technology. Having achieved impressive early commercial success and secured strong financial backing, they are now entering an exciting period of expansion. As part of this growth, they are creating a brand-new Operations Lead role to work alongside the CEO, helping to build the operational foundations to support the next stage of the company’s journey.
This is far more than a traditional operations role. You’ll become a trusted right-hand partner, taking ownership of operational management including finance, legal, compliance and HR activities, supporting customer engagement, and strategic growth initiatives. The Role
The CEO is an accomplished entrepreneur with a clear vision for the business. As commercial momentum continues to build, they are looking for someone who can take ownership of operational delivery, allowing them to focus on strategic growth and innovation. You’ll become involved in many aspects of the business, ensuring projects move forward, customers receive an outstanding experience, internal teams remain aligned and commercial opportunities are maximised. This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable switching between being very hands-on, operational leadership and commercial negotiations.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of day-to-day operational management across the business
- Hands-on delivery in legal, compliance, finance and HR
- Negotiating contracts and producing associated documentation
- Coordinate internal processes to deliver results
- Help implement scalable operational processes to support continued growth
- Support customer meetings and ongoing client engagement
- Build strong relationships with insurers, MGAs, brokers and strategic partners
- Oversee ongoing operational delivery
- Drive projects through to completion whilst removing obstacles and maintaining momentum
- Support strategic planning and business growth initiatives
About You
You’ll be an energetic, commercially aware and highly organised individual, who enjoys working at the heart of a growing business. You’re likely to have worked within a start-up/scale-up Insurtech, Specialty insurer or MGA and will already understand the pace and demands of a scaling technology business. Most importantly, you’ll enjoy solving problems, developing processes, building relationships and making things happen. You’ll have the confidence to represent the business externally whilst also providing practical operational leadership internally. In particular, you will understand the need to be very 'hands-on' in every aspect in the early stages of building the foundations for future growth.
Experience Required
- Essential Experience working in a key Operations role within an Insurtech or insurance business
- Proven experience developing Finance, Legal, HR and Compliance processes
- Understanding of Specialty Insurance / London Market
- Experience working alongside international technology or software development teams
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and understanding of being hands-on at this stage of business
- Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities evolve quickly
