We are looking for a proactive and experienced Multi‑Skilled Engineer (On‑Site Based) to carry out both electrical and mechanical maintenance of a commercial building based in Vauxhall. This role involves ensuring that building systems and services operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulations. To be able to complete pre‑planned maintenance activities across a range of systems, to be able to produce reports utilising CAFM software/PDA.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on a variety of building services systems.
- Fault‑find and repair issues across electrical systems (lighting, distribution boards, emergency systems) and mechanical systems (HVAC, pumps, plumbing, ventilation).
- Monitor, test, and maintain building management systems (BMS) and other automated systems.
- Carry out electrical tasks such as replacing fittings, wiring, testing circuits, and minor installations.
- Carry out mechanical tasks including HVAC filter changes, pump maintenance, pipework repairs, and ventilation checks.
- Respond to urgent maintenance requests and breakdowns in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure all work complies with health & safety and statutory regulations, keeping documentation up to date.
- Support contractors and other service providers on site as required.
Skills and Qualifications
- Recognised qualifications in both electrical and mechanical disciplines (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- Experience maintaining building services in commercial properties (e.g., offices, retail, healthcare, or public buildings).
- Good working knowledge of HVAC systems, lighting systems, and BMS controls.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and building plans.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to fault resolution.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation (e.g., Health & Safety at Work Act, LOLER, PUWER, etc.).
- Experience with CAFM (Computer‑Aided Facilities Management) systems.
- F‑Gas certification or HVAC‑specific qualifications.
- PASMA/IPAF or other relevant access equipment training.
- Prior experience in a client‑facing or mobile maintenance role.
