We are Calibrate Energy Engineering, part of the RSK Group, a leading integrated environmental, engineering, and technical services business. We design, install and maintain intelligent, low‑cost, hands‑off heating and chilling systems for high‑energy use industries, helping commercial businesses meet the UK government’s net zero target.
Responsibilities
- Installation & Commissioning: Lead and participate in the installation, commissioning, and setup of GSHP and CHP systems according to company and industry standards.
- Maintenance & Servicing: Perform and oversee planned and reactive maintenance of GSHP and CHP units, typically ranging from 100kW to 1MW capacity.
- Fault Diagnosis: Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and mechanical issues, supporting junior engineers with advanced diagnostics.
- Documentation & Reporting: Complete service reports, maintain accurate records, and ensure all compliance, safety, and quality requirements are met.
- Health & Safety: Promote a strong safety culture, adhering to all procedures and ensuring safe working practices at all times.
Senior Role Additional Responsibilities
- Supervision & Leadership: Supervise site teams, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure works are completed on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.
- Mentoring & Training: Support the development of service engineers and apprentices by providing technical guidance, mentoring, and on‑the‑job training.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with the Operations and Project Management teams to plan works, review drawings, and ensure all handover documentation is completed accurately.
- Customer Support: Act as a senior technical contact, providing clear advice and ensuring excellent customer service and communication.
Qualifications and Experience
- Electrical qualifications relevant to HVAC, GSHP, or CHP systems at commercial/industrial scale.
- Relevant diploma / NVQ.
- Experience in CHP and HP controls systems, monitoring and set up, mapping, controls points and alarms.
- Proven experience installing, servicing, and maintaining GSHP and/or CHP systems, with capability to supervise others.
- Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills in electrical and some mechanical systems.
- Demonstrable experience leading or supervising site teams and managing subcontractors (Senior position).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both clients and colleagues.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel approximately 80% of the time.
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification (or willingness to obtain).
