General Manager - Manufacturing Plant (Based in Bengaluru - India)
Our client is a leading global manufacturer of industrial products and has been growing over decades with their headquarters in Europe.
As part of their expansion journey, Caliber8 is retained to hire a General Manager - Manufacturing to oversee a large manufacturing site based in Bengaluru
This role will head the entire site and have full visibility to the commercial deliverables in India.
You will be reporting to the Global Head of Manufacturing at the corporate headquarters in Europe with a close working relationship with the CEO in India.
The general Manager is an executive who has overall responsibility for managing both the revenue and cost elements (profit & loss) responsibility of the organization.
- The general Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the business and is responsible for effective planning, delegating, coordinating, staffing, organizing, and decision making to attain desirable profit-making results.
- The General Manager coordinates with HR the development of key performance goals for direct reports; provides direct management of key functional managers.
- The Plant Head drives a zero-incident culture and ensures regulatory compliance by establishing a robust EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) framework.
- Key actions include enforcing daily SOPs, conducting routine safety audits, and aligning facility operations with WSH and ISO standards
- Cost control, achieving and maintaining site safety objectives; no environmental violations.
- The head of the plant must have great pedigree and experience in handling lean manufacturing related topics.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering; or master’s degree in business with at least 25 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
- The ideal candidate must have assumed a plant head role within the manufacturing industry ideally in the industrial domain.
- Expatriate benefits and relocation to Bangalore will be provided with a fixed term contract in place.
- Candidate coming from a large global MNC is a must.
- Governance, Safety, Compliance will be key to shortlisting the ideal candidate.
- Expatriates who have previously worked in India would be preferred and the second choice would be candidates having experience in emerging markets
