We are working with a leading shipping organisation to appoint a Global Finance Director in a senior leadership capacity. As a key member of the leadership team, this individual will oversee the full spectrum of finance operations across an international business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall finance function across the group, ensuring strong financial governance, operational efficiency and strategic support to the business.
- Provide financial and commercial guidance to executive leadership, supporting business planning, growth initiatives and long term decision making.
- Take ownership of group reporting activities including consolidations, statutory reporting and financial compliance across international operations.
- Ensure the integrity of financial controls, accounting processes and internal governance frameworks across the organisation.
- Drive financial planning activities including annual budgets, forecasting cycles and performance analysis to support business objectives.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors and regulatory bodies while overseeing tax and compliance matters across multiple jurisdictions.
- Lead, develop and mentor regional finance teams, creating a collaborative and commercially focused finance culture.
Key Requirements
- Qualified finance professional with CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent credentials.
- Proven track record operating in a senior finance leadership position within a multinational or complex business environment.
- Strong understanding of group reporting, consolidations and IFRS within multi entity structures.
- Prior exposure to treasury operations, funding activities and FX management in an international setting.
- Experience working within operationally intensive or capital heavy industries would be advantageous.
- Commercially driven with the ability to influence stakeholders across both finance and non finance functions.
- Strong leadership and people management experience, with the ability to manage regional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating in a hands on leadership role within a fast paced and evolving environment.
