We are looking for a proactive Purchaser to support procurement and technical operations for a fleet of container vessels. This role plays a key part in ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of spares, stores, and services, supporting vessel readiness, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities including sourcing, RFQs, vendor selection, and purchase order processing.
- Coordinate delivery of spares, stores, and services to vessels globally in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Liaise closely with vessels, superintendents, and operations teams on procurement requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance, conduct price comparisons and negotiations to ensure value and quality.
- Track and manage logistics arrangements (air/sea/land transport) for vessel supplies.
- Verify invoices against quotations and ensure timely processing within credit terms.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, reports, and vessel expenses.
- Support technical teams on dry docking, repairs, and off-land servicing coordination.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and maritime standards.
- Maintain proper documentation of vessel certificates, records, and technical data.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in marine procurement / ship management.
- Familiarity with operations, Class/Flag requirements, and shipboard processes.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and global supply chain logistics.
- Proficient in MS Office and procurement / fleet systems (e.g., Danaos or similar).
- Good negotiation, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
