This is a 1-year contract role which supports core finance operations, with a focus on month end close, reporting, and group submissions. The role is hands-on and suited to someone comfortable operating across full sets of accounts in a structured, deadline driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the monthly financial close, including preparation and review of accounting entries across payables, receivables, and the general ledger.
- Prepare month-end and period-end schedules and assist with group reporting and consolidation submissions at quarter and year end.
- Produce statutory and management reports and coordinate required filings, surveys, or data submissions to local authorities and regional or group teams.
- Monitor and review cash flow forecasts, covering both near-term liquidity and longer-term planning horizons.
- Assist with the annual budgeting process for general and administrative expenses, including compilation and submission for group reporting.
- Support annual impairment assessments and related analysis.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in financial systems, processes, and internal controls.
- Provide ad-hoc finance support as required by the finance leadership team.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a recognised professional qualification.
- Experience in the maritime industry with a ship owner/ship management company is a must.
- Around 5 years of relevant hands-on accounting experience, ideally covering full sets.
- Knowledge of IMOS is an advantage.
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a team environment, with clear communication skills.
- Ability to start on short notice is advantageous.
