Our client is a well-established European multinational with a strong footprint across APAC, recognized for its structured finance environment and robust governance standards. They are currently looking for a hands-on and technically strong Chief Accountant to manage core accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance. This role will play a key part in ensuring the integrity of financial data while working closely with regional stakeholders and supporting finance leadership. The position also offers exposure to process improvements, system implementation, and cross-border coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full set of accounts, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local statutory requirements
- Oversee core accounting functions including GL, AP, AR, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records, including intercompany transactions
- Liaise with internal stakeholders across regions to support intercompany and group reporting activities
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretaries, and regulatory authorities
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including GST, WHT, and corporate tax filings
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes in line with corporate guidelines
- Drive improvements in accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiency
- Assist in finance transformation initiatives, including system implementations and automation projects
- Support company affairs where required, including documentation related to board resolutions and governance
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA/CA or equivalent preferred
- 5–10 years of relevant experience, ideally with Big 4 audit background followed by commercial exposure
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, Singapore financial reporting standards, and tax compliance
- Experience with SAP is essential
- Exposure to transfer pricing and evolving global tax frameworks (e.g., Pillar 2) is advantageous
- Proven experience handling audits, statutory reporting, and regulatory filings
- Strong proficiency in Excel and financial systems
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Effective communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders across functions and regions
- Self-starter with a hands-on approach, able to work independently in a structured environment
