The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Accountant who will play a critical role in building and scaling the company’s financial foundation within a fast-growing startup environment. Reporting to the CFO, you will own the monthly and annual close processes, oversee core accounting functions, and ensure accurate, compliant reporting under US GAAP for both our US and UK entities while partnering with our third party tax advisors. You will work closely with operations, go-to-market teams, and other areas of the business to provide financial insight, drive automation and efficiency. As the business grows, you will bring the agility to adapt quickly, improve processes, and help evolve systems and controls to support scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and execute the monthly and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Manage revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP, including project-based and multi-period engagements
  • Drive finance system implementations and automation of process workflow
  • Oversee accounts payable/receivable, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets
  • Assist with cash flow management and forecasting
  • Prepare financial statements and internal management reports
  • Support annual audits, tax filings, and coordination with external auditors and advisors
  • Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, finance, and leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analyses
  • Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability

What You'll Bring

  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Knowledge of general UK standards (full UK certification not required)
  • Ability to bridge finance and GTM operations, working cross-functionally on projects
  • Proven expertise with Excel, QuickBooks and extreme attention to detail

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in Big 4 public accounting and high-growth tech startup
  • Experience with system implementations (ERP and other finance related tools)
  • Experience with SQL or managing heavy data process flows
  • CPA
  • Use of AI or automation to improve workflows and drive efficiencies
