Employer's Agent/Project Manager Location: Orpington (hybrid)

We've an exciting opportunity to join our team of Employer's Agents/Project Managers in our Head Office.

The role

You will provide support to the existing team of Employer’s Agents, as well as being the lead Employer’s Agent on small residential schemes. You will be working under JCT Design and Build Contracts, as well as Bespoke Development Agreements. The projects are sited throughout Kent, East Sussex, London and the surrounding areas, so it's critical that you have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.

What you'll be doing:

  • Chairing meetings, taking minutes and following up action plans
  • Actioning site visits to monitor contractor progress
  • Actioning site valuations, analysing contractor applications
  • Issuing change instructions
  • Analysing project delays and dealing with requests for extensions of time
  • Issuing all contractual notices, statements and certificates
  • Final account management
  • Management of the defects rectification period
  • Assisting colleagues on complicated projects as part of a delivery team
  • Helping colleagues deliver peak workload requirements, such as handover of multiple properties

What you'll need:

Qualifications

  • Full UK Drivers Licence and access to a suitable vehicle during working hours
  • Level 6 qualification in a construction related subject
  • Membership of RICS or CIOB (or registered upon the RICS APC) OR, minimum of 5 years relevant experience

Knowledge

  • Experience in UK residential development
  • A knowledge of the JCT D&B 2016 and 2024 contract
  • An understanding of development control and funding/delivery standards within the housing sector

  • Diligent with attention to detail
  • Able to think ahead and problem solve
  • Able to work within a team and an ability to undertake basic functions autonomously, whilst recognising when additional or senior input is required
