calfordseaden is a leading multi-disciplinary construction and property consultancy. We provide a comprehensive range of services across the built environment, including Architecture, Building Information Management (BIM), Building Safety, Engineering, Fire Safety, Health and Safety, Surveying, Sustainability, and more.

The role and responsibilities:

  • The Employer’s Agent will provide a professional service to clients, working on JCT Design and Build Contracts as well as Bespoke Development Agreements. The projects are sited throughout Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire London, and surrounding areas.
  • Chairing meetings, taking minutes and following up action plans
  • Actioning site visits to monitor contractor progress
  • Actioning site valuations, analysing contractor applications and issuing Payment Notices
  • Issuing change instructions
  • Analysing project delays and dealing with requests for extensions of time
  • Issuing all contractual notices, statements and certificates
  • Final account management
  • Management of the Defects Liability period
  • Review Contractor/Developer and Designer proposals and ensure that the Employer’s Requirements are fulfilled
  • Assisting colleagues on complicated projects as part of a delivery team
  • Helping colleagues deliver peak workload requirements, such as handover of multiple properties

The candidate: qualifications, skills & experience:

  • Full UK Drivers Licence
  • Level 6 qualification in a construction related subject
  • Membership of RICS or CIOB (AssocRics or MCIOB as minimum) OR, minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Experience in UK residential development
  • A knowledge of the JCT D&B 2016 and 2024 contract
  • An understanding of development control and funding/delivery standards within the housing sector
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to interact with colleagues, clients and wider team in a professional manner
  • Diligent with attention to detail
  • Able to think ahead and problem solve
  • Able to work within a team and an ability to undertake basic functions autonomously, whilst recognising when additional or senior input is required
  • An ability to identify aspects of risk and to seek guidance from senior colleagues at the correct time to manage and mitigate such risks
  • A desire to progress.
