Assistant Project Manager / Employer's Agent
Location: Orpington

The role and responsibilities:
You'll be providing support to the existing small team of 7 Employer’s Agents / Project Managers in project delivery across a range of building projects.
As an Assistant, you'll have a great opportunity to learn ‘on the job’ by shadowing more senior members of the group and taking responsibility for day-to-day tasks with suitable support/training from the wider group.
What you’ll be doing:
- Shadowing senior members of the team, both within the office environment and also on construction sites.
Assisting with:
- Taking meeting notes and minute preparation.
- Reviewing drawings that are received, against the contractual requirements.
- Handover procedures including checking documentation against contractual requirements and inspections of completed units on site.
- Reviewing contractors’ applications for payment.
- Issuing of contractual notices during the construction period.
- Preparation of and updating information tracker documents using Microsoft Excel.
- Undertaking end of the defect liability inspections of properties (usually whilst occupied) and compiling a schedule of any defects identified.
- Digital filing of emails and documents received.
Qualifications:
- A construction related level 5 qualification, OR
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position
- Full UK Driving licence and own vehicle. The role is based in our Orpington office and will cover construction sites within the Kent and East Sussex
Knowledge:
You'll need a basic understanding of:
- Construction technology and techniques.
- Basic law and construction law or an appetite towards learning more
- Standard construction contract forms or an appetite towards learning more
Skills:
- Good standard or written English and numerical ability so you can produce written quality reports
- Proficient in the use of standard IT software including MS Word and Excel, and able to learn and use bespoke software.
- Good communicator and people skills.
- Personable and confident.
- Able to work on own initiative but accept and seek guidance when required.
