Calex is recruiting a Technical Trainer & Assessor to join our team at the Bosch Training Facility in Motherwell, Scotland to deliver training for two Manufacturer Apprenticeship Programmes.
Working alongside the Programme Manager and existing training team, you will deliver and assess Light Vehicle Service & Maintenance Technician apprenticeship programmes, supporting learners through manufacturer-accredited training pathways, including High Voltage vehicle qualifications.
This is an excellent opportunity for an automotive professional looking to move into training. We provide a comprehensive development programme, including teacher training, assessor qualifications, and manufacturer technical accreditation, ensuring you have the skills and support needed to succeed.
Based in a modern, manufacturer-supported academy equipped with the latest vehicles and technology, you will play a key role in developing the next generation of automotive technicians. You will help apprentices achieve their respective Scottish qualifications, manufacturer accreditations, and career ambitions in a safe environment conducive to learning.
About the Apprenticeship Programme
The Scottish Manufacturer Apprenticeship Programmes will be delivered from the high-quality manufacturer supported Academy in Motherwell. The training facility is equipped with all the latest equipment and manufacturer vehicles to provide a real-world environment for apprenticeship training development. The programme delivers not only the core curriculum of the apprenticeship frameworks but also the technician accreditation pathway and high voltage vehicle journey so that all apprentices are equipped to work on the whole range of vehicles safely and competently.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high quality, engaging and effective Apprentice learning to the very highest standards within the manufacturer and apprenticeship framework requirements.
- Monitor and manage progression towards apprenticeship completion across training and assessment and ensure apprentices are well prepared for their onward development.
- Carry out formal reviews and assessments within the retailers to progress the work-based evidence and competence.
- Work alongside other trainers and key team members to deliver curriculum courses and other manufacturer specific modules through face to face and virtual environments.
- Deploy and facilitate engaging training in-line with Trainer Accreditation methodology and latest technology.
- Maintain quality, standardisation and application of training delivery to ensure that it meets the needs of the Apprentice Programme objectives.
- Promote a positive culture and promote the brand in everything that you do.
- Ensure all the training adheres to Health and Safety standards, Safeguarding and Prevent.
- Act as an ambassador for the Apprenticeship Programmes, proactively demonstrating good practice and the brand values.
About You
- Qualified Technician at Level 3 (EHV certification desirable).
- Recent manufacturer workshop experience (desirable).
- Teaching qualification/experience (PTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE, TAP, Cert Ed or NVQ equivalent qualification desirable).
- Relevant Health & Safety Qualification (desirable).
- Full Driving License.
- Strong awareness of new technical innovation.
- Competent in using MS software packages.
- Strong ‘Customer First’ ethic.
- Passion for training and development of others.
- Excellent team player.

Salary & Benefits: £38,000 depending on experience. Contract: Permanent / Full Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday / 40 hours per week
Place of Work: Calex Apprenticeships, Bosch Service Training Facility, Woodside, Eurocentral, Motherwell, Scotland.
