Calex specialise in the design, development, and delivery of innovative learning programmes, predominantly within the automotive retail industry, including management, technical, aftersales and apprentice training. More recently we have begun working with forward-thinking companies within the logistics, food & beverage, and pensions sectors to enhance their training proposition via the implementation of Virtual Learning Environments, Live Broadcasting and Social Learning Platforms. We are currently seeking to recruit a Videographer/Editor to join the team at Volkswagen National Learning Centre (NLC) in Milton Keynes. The role reports to the Digital & Multimedia Manager within the Digital & Multimedia Team. This team is responsible for the creation of video and digital content for virtual training and face-to-face delivery across our partner network, as well as corporate films. The Videographer / Editor will be involved in the concept and creation of story boards and all creative aspects of content production, with the output focused on supporting our networks ability to enhance Customer Experience. The role will require you to direct, shoot and edit footage in accordance with brand guidelines. Key responsibilities:
- Create and develop multimedia (audio/video/photographic) content
- Responsible for the planning, shooting, and editing of videos
- Support with events including set dressing and AV Support
- Following the production process from content brief to delivery of assets
- Prioritising multiple fast-paced projects at the same time
- Ensure that all image and video assets created meet editorial standards and branding guidelines
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as defined by line management
About You:
- Self-sufficient, tech-savvy, and a quick learner with excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong understanding of the creative process, including storytelling, conceptualising, filming, sound, and lighting
- Experience in multiplatform content production, including self-shooting, with the ability to take creative direction and work autonomously to bring ideas to life
- Proficient in camera operation and experienced in Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g. Premiere Pro, After Effects), with a solid understanding of video formats and codecs
- Skilled in basic script editing and compiling shot lists
- Collaborative mindset, with experience working cross-functionally with designers, animators, and motion graphics specialists, and the ability to both lead and contribute within a team
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to support stakeholders in achieving their creative vision
- Willingness to travel if required
Desirable / advantageous:
- Expertise in colour correction/grading, sound design, or animation
- Experience with photography
- Experience creating infographics

Pre-employment Checks – Calex will undertake the relevant/standard employment checks with any successful candidate. This includes contacting all nominated references, as well as checking candidate ID, driving licence (if appropriate) and right to work in the UK. Some roles may also be subject to further pre-employment checks (confirmation will be provided through the recruitment process). The nature of this role may necessitate that we undertake a DBS check.
Employment – The successful candidate will be employed by Calex UK (www.calexuk.com). Calex are a specialist automotive training provider and provide training staff and expertise including Trainers, Developers, Digital Learning Experts, and Administrators to Volkswagen Group UK. The successful candidate will join an established team, at the VWG National Learning Centre in Milton Keynes.
Visa Sponsorship – Although Calex UK is on the register of Worker and Temporary Worker licensed sponsors, there is not an opportunity of sponsor for this specific role.
Place of Work – VWG National Learning Centre (NLC), Wymbush, Milton Keynes. We currently operate hybrid working with at least 60% of time in the NLC with the opportunity to work up to 40% remotely. Time spent in the office may change. There will also be times when it may be necessary to work from alternative locations, e.g. VWG facilities and retailers, and other sites as necessary to perform the role.
