Calex specialise in the design, development, and delivery of innovative learning programmes, predominantly within the automotive retail industry, including management, technical, aftersales and apprentice training. The successful candidate should ideally have a learning and development background and possess significant demonstrable training delivery experience of automotive product and technology, induction, Sales and Customer Service training. Experience of delivering and developing digital and attended learning programmes is highly advantageous.

The role provides a great opportunity to broaden your skills to enable you to deliver a range of engaging and informative training programmes which will include elements of course development and design, plus involvement in the Assessment of candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of core Sales, Service, Management and Personal development training courses along with interventions such as Product & Technology and Inductions.
  • Undertake design work (digital, eLearning, Virtual Classrooms and Face to Face) that is learner-focused, aligned to TAP methodology and brand/factory requirements, covering all training areas.
  • Consult with key stakeholders for needs analysis and competency mapping.
  • Ensure Return on Investment is a key driver behind all delivery.
  • Align all delivery to VWG and individual brand cultures and requirements.
  • Utilise appropriate technology in the delivery of blended learning interventions, such as e-learning, webinars and Virtual classrooms.
  • Perform all aspects of the role to the standards set out within yearly objectives and KPI/SLA agreements between Volkswagen Group UK & Calex.
  • Undertake all aspects of administration in relation to training delivery, e.g. completing course rosters, pre-course and post-course briefings, assignment/test scoring and inputting.
  • Attend factory or brand led events as a representative of the brand, Calex and VWG Learning Services, ranging from Train the Trainer events to Product Launches.
  • Assessment of core roles within the Volkswagen Group Network.
  • To travel to and attend Volkswagen Group factories within Europe.
  • To create learning storyboards to support the design of training assets.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as defined by line management.

About You

Essential

  • Experience of delivering face to face and digital training interventions to an industry leading standard.
  • Experience of using eLearning authoring tools (Adobe suite preferred) to design digital learning.
  • Experience of consulting with stakeholders and stakeholder management.
  • Maintains a dynamic and engaging delivery style at all times.
  • Ability to engage groups of learners at every stage of the learning process using a variety of exercises and discussion to embed learning.
  • Ability to translate interventions and content in a way that provides learners with the link to how application of learning will lead to performance improvement.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of L&D theory and best practice and how it is practically applied in an L&D department.
  • An understanding of blended learning and its application.
  • Maintains credibility by keeping up to date with new and revised learning and development theories, practices, and methodologies including technological advancements.
  • Intermediate IT Skills – All Microsoft Office Packages.
  • Must hold a current, valid passport.
  • Must hold a full, clean driving licence.

  • Experience working within the manufacturing or automotive industry.
  • TAP Delivery Skills Accredited.
  • Experience of utilising technology in the delivery of training such as webinars and online applications.
  • An understanding of ROI and its application in training interventions.
  • A genuine interest and passion for the automotive industry, keeping abreast of developments both within the VWG brands and its competitors.
  • Experience of working in learning departments with a focus on achieving set qualification standards & targets.
  • Easy commuting to the Milton Keynes area.
  • An understanding of assessment tools and their links to learning & development.

Salary & Benefits: Up to £38,000 dependant on experience. Car Allowance of £328.50 per month (Total £3942 pa). 25 Days Annual Leave, Calex Employee Benefits Packages (Inc Private GP and Healthcare Services, High Street Discounts, Discounted Gym Memberships and on Demand 24 Hour Wellbeing Service (Counselling and Advice), Life Assurance, Pension, optional private Healthcare cover.

Contract: Permanent / Full Time

Working Hours: Monday to Friday / 40 hours per week

Place of Work: VWG National Learning Centre, Wymbush, Milton Keynes.

We currently operate hybrid working with at least 60% of time in the National Learning Centre with the opportunity to work up to 40% remotely. Time spent in the office may change dependent on business requirements. There will also be times when it may be necessary to work from alternative locations, e.g. VWG facilities and retailers, and other sites as necessary to perform the role.

Pre-employment Checks: Calex will undertake the relevant/standard employment checks with any successful candidate. This includes contacting all nominated referees, as well as checking candidate ID, driving licence (if appropriate) and right to work in the UK. Some roles may also be subject to further pre-employment checks (confirmation will be provided through the recruitment process). The nature of this role may necessitate that we undertake a DBS check.
