Calex specialise in the design, development, and delivery of innovative learning programmes, predominantly within the automotive retail industry, including management, technical, aftersales and apprentice training. More recently we have begun working with forward-thinking companies within the logistics, food & beverage, and pensions sectors to enhance their training proposition via the implementation of Virtual Learning Environments, Live Broadcasting and Social Learning Platforms.
The role

Calex works closely with Volkswagen Group UK to design and deliver outstanding learning experiences for technicians across Audi, SEAT, CUPRA, ŠKODA, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, and TPS.
Based at the National Learning Centre in Milton Keynes – the UK’s largest automotive training facility – you’ll play a key role in developing the skills of more than 26,000 learners across the retailer network. As a Technical Trainer, you’ll deliver engaging, high-quality training that equips technicians with the skills and confidence to work on the latest Volkswagen Group technology.
Become a Volkswagen Group Factory Approved Technical Trainer Within 12 Months. You do not need previous training experience to be successful in this role. What matters most is your technical expertise, passion for automotive technology and desire to help others develop. Through a structured development programme, you will receive support, coaching and factory accreditation designed to help you transition from technician to professional trainer. During your first 12 months, you will work towards becoming a Volkswagen Group Factory Approved Technical Trainer, developing the skills and confidence required to deliver training across multiple Volkswagen Group brands. This is a unique opportunity to build a long-term career in learning and development whilst remaining at the forefront of automotive technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a blend of hands-on workshop training, classroom sessions, virtual classrooms, and live broadcasts.
- Develop and update learning content, including new-model launch training.
- Attend brand and factory events, including product launches and factory accreditation programmes.
- Inspire technicians of all experience levels to be the best in the industry.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as defined by line management.

- Hold electric vehicle and high-voltage system qualifications (desirable).

Salary & Benefits:
£41,800– £48,660 per annum including car allowance + £10,000 personal development investment. Contract: Permanent / Full Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday / 40 hours per week (typically 8:30am-5pm)
Place of Work: Volkswagen Group UK National Learning Centre, Wymbush, Milton Keynes
Training may also take place at: Calex offices, Additional VWG facilities, Retailers, International venues, including Germany, Spain, and the Czech Republic.
The NLC is a modern training facility with an onsite restaurant serving a choice of three different hot meals each day, it also benefits from an onsite parking, deli bar and Starbucks café.
Pre-employment Checks: Calex will undertake the relevant/standard employment checks with any successful candidate. This includes contacting all nominated referees, as well as checking candidate ID, driving licence (if appropriate) and right to work in the UK. Some roles may also be subject to further pre-employment checks (confirmation will be provided through the recruitment process). The nature of this role may necessitate that we undertake a DBS check.
