We are currently seeking to recruit a Learning Content Designer at Henry Ford Academy in Daventry. The Henry Ford Academy plays a vital role in supporting Ford of Britain and Ireland by delivering impactful training to our dealership network. Additionally, we have key contracts to develop premium training content for 23 markets in Europe for Ford of Europe & Ford Global. We help upskill staff with the knowledge they need to drive Ford's strategy forward.
As a Learning Content Designer, you won’t just be writing content – you’ll be a key player in bringing learning solutions to life visually and managing the journey from concept to completion. You’ll work hand-in-hand with Ford stakeholders and subject matter experts, not just taking orders but actively leading discussions, understanding their needs, and translating them into innovative blended learning experiences. This role requires someone who is passionate about creating learning that doesn’t just inform, but truly engages and makes an impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stakeholder Partnership & Management: Once projects have been agreed, you will be part of the project team and one of the key contacts for the stakeholders in the process. This means actively building strong relationships, supporting scoping discussions, gathering requirements, and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Visual & Digital Learning Design: You will be responsible for designing and creating a wide range of visually compelling digital learning materials, including engaging animations, interactive guides, impactful visual aids, video storyboards/scripts, and polished e-learning modules.
- Needs Analysis & Solution Design: Analyse learning aims and objectives, gather content from various sources, and recommend the most effective blended learning solutions to meet business needs.
- LMS Deployment: Utilise our Learning Management System (LMS) effectively to deploy blended learning interventions.
- Project Leadership & Pace: You’ll manage your own portfolio of projects, leading them from start to finish.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain an exceptional focus on quality control and attention to detail throughout the design and development process.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in learning design, digital media, and the automotive sector.
About You:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in learning design and development.
- Exceptional Graphic Design & Digital Media Skills.
- Strong Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
- Experience using learning asset creation tools such as Articulate Rise/Storyline, Vyond, PageTiger, or similar.
- A sharp eye for detail and a strong focus on quality control.
- Skilled Stakeholder Manager with excellent customer relationship management skills.
- Ability to Thrive in a Fast-Paced Environment.
- Strong project management, time management, and organisational skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS).
- Ability to be creative and innovative.
- Strong writing ability, particularly for e-learning storyboards and video scripts.
- An understanding of how to design materials that reflect the diversity of the learner audience.

Salary & Benefits: £35,000 – £45,000 dependant on experience, 25 Days Annual Leave, Calex Employee Benefits Packages.
Contract: Permanent / Full Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday / 40 hours per week
Place of Work: Hybrid – Minimum of 2 Days per week required at Henry Ford Academy in Daventry.
