Job Summary
As our work continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Technical Trainer to join our Ford of Britain and Ireland delivery team. In this role, you will deliver engaging technical training to Ford dealer delegates and Customer Partners across electrical, mechanical, diagnostic, and high voltage systems. You will support technicians progressing through Qualified, Senior, and Master curriculums, including Electric Vehicle qualifications. Based at the Henry Ford Academy in Daventry, you will be supported by a facility team that prepares vehicles, training faults, workshop areas, and course materials.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver attended and virtual technical training covering diagnostics, repair procedures, and workshop best practice.
- Create an engaging learning environment that encourages discussion, knowledge sharing, and practical application.
- Research new vehicle technologies and translate complex information into clear, relevant learning for delegates.
- Build strong relationships with delegates, dealer networks, Ford stakeholders, and Customer Partners.
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery quality, delegate experience, and customer satisfaction.
- Support with the development of trainer guides, learning materials, and training brochures in line with agreed standards.
- Maintain your own continual professional development and contribute to internal quality assurance activity.
What We’re Looking For
- A strong background in a Service Technician, diagnostic, or technical automotive environment.
- Detailed knowledge of vehicle systems, with the ability to learn and explain new technologies and diagnostic processes clearly.
- Relevant academic or industry qualifications; high voltage experience or qualifications would be an advantage.
- Experience delivering technical training or coaching workshop technicians in practical skills and procedures.
- Clear communication skills, including strong written English and the confidence to explain complex topics in an accessible way.
- Good IT skills, ideally including experience with multimedia design, publishing, or learning content tools.
- The ability to work to deadlines, assess competence against awarding body guidelines, and maintain high standards of delivery.

- A valid, clean driving licence and willingness to travel to regional sites when required.
