We are currently recruiting a Technical Excellence Manager to join the team at The Stellantis Performance Academy in Coventry. The Performance Academy is responsible for the learning and development of all job roles within the Peugeot, Citroen, DS, Vauxhall, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Abarth, Alfa Romeo, JEEP and Leapmotor UK network. The Technical Excellence Manager will be responsible for the management of both the Stellantis Apprenticeship Programme (Technical & Commercial) and Stellantis Technical training.

We are looking for someone who has a high level of experience of Automotive Apprenticeships and Technical Training; applicants will need the vision to look past the standard processes and want to identify solutions that will deliver a true impact on performance. This role will require the individual to have an abundance of ambition, drive, and creativity. You will be part of a team with varying depths of knowledge, skills, and experience. At times you may be asked to go above and beyond the everyday duties that are set, so to show a willingness to adapt to any situation is a pivotal skill. We expect applicants to show initiative for problem solving and thinking creatively.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan the Apprenticeship Programme training and monitor its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate with lead training / coach.
  • Plan and monitor Technical Training delivery efficiencies in line with Stellantis requirements.
  • Align technical delivery from year one Apprentice to fully qualified Expert Technician.
  • Monitor delivery targets and ensure success rates are maintained.
  • Manage internal and external verification activity.
  • Report progress of the Programme at regular intervals to the Programme Director / Client on the progression of learners and general performance of the contract.
  • Take part in the recruitment and integration of new employees.
  • Ensure that the delivery of new initiatives within Technical Excellence is to the appropriate levels of quality, on time and within budget, linked to a collaborative approach with Stellantis Management.
  • Ensure that there is efficient allocation of common resources and skills within the Technical Excellence team.
  • Staff development and 1-2-1’s.
  • Be responsible for the Quality Assurance and overall integrity.
  • Ensure the training fleet is kept up to date.
  • Ensure effective Communication with all stakeholders involved in the delivery of the programme.

Core Skills, Knowledge and Experience we are looking for:

  • Demonstrate the ability to unite and create a high performing team.
  • A high level of knowledge of Apprenticeship training theory & practice.
  • Experience of supporting OFSTED inspections.
  • A high level of knowledge automotive Technical Training.
  • A recognised L&D qualification such as CIPD or TAP.
  • A thorough understanding of the functionality of Learning Experience Platforms.
  • Organised with good time management skills.
  • Collaborative working ethic with an ability to work independently and on own initiative without direct supervision.
  • Ability to demonstrate the impact of true data driven learning through media solutions.
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office applications.

Salary & Benefits: £50,000 dependant on experience, Company Car (BIK), 26 Days Annual Leave, plus Bank Holidays, Calex Employee Benefits Packages (Inc Private GP and Healthcare Services, High Street Discounts, Discounted Gym Memberships and on Demand 24 Hour Wellbeing Service (Counselling and Advice), Pension, Life Assurance, and optional Private Healthcare cover.

Place of Work: This role is full time office based at The Stellantis Performance Academy in Coventry.

Contract: Full time / Permanent.

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.

Pre‑employment Checks: Calex will undertake the relevant/standard employment checks with any successful candidate. This includes contacting all nominated references, as well as checking candidate ID, driving licence (if appropriate) and right to work in the UK. Some roles may also be subject to further pre‑employment checks (confirmation will be provided through the recruitment process). This nature of this role will necessitate that we undertake a DBS check.
