About Us

Calex specialise in the design, development, and delivery of innovative learning programmes, predominantly within the automotive retail industry, including management, technical, aftersales and apprentice training. More recently we have begun working with forward‑thinking companies within the logistics, food & beverage, and pensions sectors to enhance their training proposition via the implementation of Virtual Learning Environments, Live Broadcasting and Social Learning Platforms. Our Corporate Vision is to ‘Deliver inspirational, technology rich, fully integrated and personalised learning programmes that deliver beyond expectation’ and we work in close partnership with our clients to identify and implement innovative and effective learning solutions.

We are currently seeking to recruit an Events Manager to join the Commercial Training team at Stellantis Performance Academy in Coventry. The successful candidate will be accountable for the end‑to‑end design, planning, and delivery of high‑impact automotive training and engagement events across multiple Stellantis brands. This is a hands‑on, decision‑owning role. The postholder will take concepts and objectives and turn them into fully delivered, high‑quality live experiences with minimal supervision. Strategic direction and oversight will be provided, but this role exists to remove pressure, not add it. The Events Manager will be trusted to make informed decisions, manage stakeholders confidently, and ensure that events run professionally, safely, on time, and on brand. You will ensure every event is delivered with confidence, consistency, and professionalism. Taking charge and owning the outcome, you will drive each event to success. This role calls for a proactive leader who thrives on decision‑making and delivering results – coordination alone is not enough.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Design & Ownership
    • Take ownership of event concepts from brief to live delivery, translating objectives into practical, well‑executed event plans.
    • Develop and present event proposals that align with brand identity, learning outcomes, and commercial priorities.
    • Make confident operational decisions, escalating only where strategic input is genuinely required.
  • Planning & Logistics
    • Lead venue and hotel sourcing, site visits, and supplier selection.
    • Build and maintain detailed event project plans, holding all contributors to deadlines and standards.
    • Manage all event logistics including accommodation, transport, vehicles, catering, AV, branding, assets, uniforms, and evening activities.
    • Ensure efficient preparation for live delivery, including packing, asset tracking, and post‑event reconciliation.
  • Live Event Leadership
    • Act as the operational lead onsite, running events with authority and clarity.
    • Coordinate trainers, crew, suppliers, and venues to ensure smooth delivery.
    • Resolve issues decisively and calmly under pressure.
    • Set clear expectations during build, live delivery, and de‑rig, ensuring assets are controlled and returned correctly.
  • Stakeholder & Supplier Management
    • Act as the primary point of contact for venues, hotels, suppliers, and onsite crews.
    • Build strong working relationships that enable delivery without constant escalation.
    • Work confidently with internal stakeholders, providing updates and managing expectations.
  • Health, Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure all events meet health and safety requirements.
    • Own risk assessments and compliance documentation.
    • Maintain a safe environment for staff, delegates, and visitors at all times.
  • Vehicle, Site & Asset Oversight
    • Coordinate the use of training and event vehicles where required.
    • Ensure event assets, branding, and equipment are stored, tracked, and maintained properly.
    • Support the delivery of a professional, high‑quality onsite experience at the Performance Academy.
  • Financial & Administrative Control
    • Track event budgets, costs, and supplier invoices.
    • Work closely with finance to ensure accurate and timely settlement.
    • Maintain organised event job folders and documentation.
    • Review post‑event feedback and proactively recommend improvements.
