Position
Title: Technical Trainer at Mazda Academy, Stewartby (near Bedford).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver core technical and product training programmes via attended classroom, workshop, virtual classroom and film/live broadcasts.
- Deliver highly engaging, learner‑focused training programmes and continuously develop them with an emphasis on emerging learning technologies.
- Demonstrate Mazda brand values in all activities and interactions.
- Collaborate with the Training & Development team to seek improvements focused on learner outcomes.
- Undertake design and development work as required.
- Handle all aspects of training administration, including course rosters, briefings, assessments and certifications.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date reporting in line with programme requirements.
- Work with brand, retailers, agencies and professional bodies to ensure qualification and/or training programmes meet quality assurance standards.
- Maintain professional expertise and keep current with industry developments.
- Support programme administration activities.
- Attend brand‑led events as a representative, including train‑the‑trainer events and product launches.
About You
- Level 3 or equivalent Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (essential).
- Electric & Hybrid Vehicle experience or professional qualification (desirable).
- Existing technical training and/or coaching experience, and linked qualification (desirable).
- Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PTLLS, TAP) (desirable).
- Recent automotive workshop experience and professional qualification, ideally gained in a manufacturer workshop environment (essential).
- Maths & English GCSE Level 4/C or above (or equivalent) (highly desirable).
- Outgoing, enthusiastic, confident personality with a desire to engage with people.
- Strong written and verbal communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to communicate with a variety of people at all levels.
- Professional manner at all times.
- Pro‑active ‘can‑do’ attitude.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Salary & Benefits
Starting salary £39,000, increasing with experience. If the successful applicant has previous technical teaching experience, salary up to £42,000.
