Role Description

The Apprenticeships Regional Development Skills Coach (South England) | Mazda is a full-time, on-site role based in Stewartby.

The position focuses on supporting Mazda apprentices across the South of England, ensuring they progress effectively through their training and meet both program and brand standards.

Day-to-day responsibilities include coaching apprentices in technical and commercial skills, conducting progress reviews, and providing feedback that supports achievement of learning objectives.

The role also involves liaising with Mazda retailers and internal stakeholders, monitoring performance and compliance, and maintaining accurate records of learner progress.

The Skills Coach will contribute to continuous improvement of the apprenticeship program, share best practices with colleagues, and promote a positive learning culture aligned with Mazda and Calex UK values.

Qualifications

  • Experience in apprenticeship coaching, mentoring, or vocational training, ideally within automotive or a related technical environment.
  • Strong learner support skills, including one-to-one coaching, progress review, and performance feedback.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with apprentices, retailers, and internal teams.
  • Good organizational and time-management abilities, including planning regional visits and managing a caseload of learners.
  • Comfort with technology-enabled learning, including virtual learning environments, online assessment tools, and digital reporting systems.
  • Understanding of apprenticeship standards, compliance requirements, and quality assurance processes (experience with UK apprenticeship frameworks is an advantage).
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the South of England as required.
  • Relevant qualification in teaching, assessing, or coaching (e. g., TAQA/Assessor award, coaching qualification, or education/training certificate) is desirable.
