We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established and growing fire & Security business for an experienced Small Works Engineer to join their team. The role will predominantly involve small electrical works, emergency lighting installations and replacements, and the installation/replacement of fused spurs, with the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial projects. You will be expected to travel to sites within London/M25.
The ideal candidate will be a skilled and reliable electrician who is comfortable working independently and representing the company professionally when working on client sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, replacement and maintenance of emergency lighting systems
- Installation and replacement of fused spurs
- Carrying out general electrical small works
- Electrical fault finding and basic diagnostics
- Testing and inspection of completed works
- Completing relevant paperwork and job sheets accurately
- Identifying additional works and reporting requirements to management
- Working to current electrical regulations and company standards
- Liaising professionally with clients and site contacts
- Maintaining a high standard of health & safety at all times
- Travelling to various commercial sites as required
Desirable Experience
- Emergency lighting installation, replacement and testing
- Fused spurs and general small electrical works
- Commercial electrical installations
- Fault finding
- Fire alarm systems installation, maintenance or basic fault finding would be highly advantageous
Essential Requirements
- Qualified electrician with relevant electrical qualifications
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- ECS Gold Card
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Previous experience within a commercial electrical environment
- Good understanding of electrical health & safety requirements
- Professional approach and good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
