Our client is a specialist, reliable, and reputable Commercial Vehicle Company based in the Nottinghamshire area. They are seeking a passionate and dedicated VMU Workshop Manager / HGV Workshop Manager to join their team as they explore expansion plans and growth opportunities. As a VMU Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Oversee comprehensive maintenance tasks such as servicing, inspections, repairs, MOT preparations, and handling breakdowns.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Legal Compliance and Roadworthiness standards, demonstrating awareness of the DVSA Earned Recognition Scheme.
  • Uphold the company's commitment to high levels of health and safety, including compliance with ISO H&S and Environmental standards.
  • Implement safe working practices and maintain fleet integrity, ensuring that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Risk Assessments (RAs) are current for all tasks.
  • Oversee workshop operations, including staff management and vehicle oversight.
  • Conduct and schedule regular inspections and maintenance activities for all vehicles to meet DVSA standards.
  • Track and report MOT pass rates, managing the DVSA/DVA booking system effectively.
  • Handle all vehicles with care and adhere to health and safety protocols.
  • Operate within defined contract/budget constraints, optimizing external labor and parts sales.
  • Monitor labor and parts sales closely to achieve monthly targets.
  • Coordinate vehicle/trailer breakdowns efficiently.
