We are seeking either a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to join our clients business in Portsmouth. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer with a strong building services background to work on a diverse portfolio of high-quality projects across multiple sectors.
You will be responsible for producing innovative, compliant, and cost-effective engineering designs from concept through to completion, working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.
Key Responsibilities- Produce mechanical or electrical building services designs for a range of projects.
- Prepare calculations, specifications, reports, and technical drawings.
- Develop designs from feasibility through to detailed design and construction.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other consultants.
- Attend client, design, and site meetings as required.
- Ensure designs comply with current regulations, standards, and industry best practice.
- Support project delivery to programme and budget.
- Provide technical guidance and contribute to continuous improvement within the design team.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Mechanical or Electrical Building Services Design.
- Proven experience delivering projects across several of the following sectors: Commercial, Ministry of Defence (MOD), Heritage, Healthcare, Education.
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Proficient in industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant calculation software.
- Strong knowledge of current Building Regulations, British Standards, and CIBSE guidance.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
