Job Role: Part-Time Roofing Designer / Architectural Drafter * Location: London (Hybrid / Remote with occasional site visits) * Commitment: Part-Time (2 to 3 days per week) * Salary/Rate: Competitive Day Rate / Pro-rata Salary (Dependent on experience) About Us We specialize in delivering premium, high-end roof designs for London’s unique architectural landscape. To maintain our uncompromising standard of quality, we are looking for a talented, detail-oriented Roofing Designer to join our boutique team on a flexible, part-time basis (2 to 3 days per week). Key Responsibilities * Bespoke Roof Design: Create comprehensive architectural drawings, structural blueprints, and detailed layouts for various roof types (including slate, tile, standing seam metal, green roofs, and flat roof systems). * 3D Visualisation: Generate high-resolution 3D digital renderings and models to help clients visualize designs before construction. * Technical Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with UK Building Regulations, London planning permissions, conservation area guidelines, and party wall constraints. * Specification & Drainage: Calculate structural loads, wind/weather resistances, and design smart ventilation and drainage/waterproofing schemes. * Client & Contractor Collaboration: Liaison with clients, structural engineers, and contractors to ensure design feasibility and seamless handover. What We Are Looking For * Proven Experience: Strong background in architectural design, structural engineering, or specialized roofing design (ideally within the London market). * Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks) and 3D rendering tools (e.g., SketchUp, Rhino, or Lumion). * Local Regulations Knowledge: A solid understanding of UK Building Regulations and London-specific planning restrictions. * Independent Worker: Ability to manage your own workload efficiently across 2–3 days, delivering highly accurate, mistake-free technical blueprints.
