The Opportunity
We are a specialist recruitment agency currently working on behalf of a well-established fire and security contractor. Due to an increasing project pipeline, they are seeking an experienced Freelance Fire & Security Project Manager to oversee projects across multiple sites while also working from their office base. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven freelance professional who is comfortable managing projects end-to-end and liaising with multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage fire and security projects from design through to installation and commissioning
- Oversee multiple live sites, ensuring delivery to programme, budget, and compliance standards
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Attend site meetings and carry out site inspections as required
- Ensure all works comply with relevant British Standards and industry regulations (e.g. BS 5839, BS 5266, NSI/BAFE where applicable)
- Manage documentation, RAMS, variations, and progress reporting
- Coordinate office-based planning with on-site delivery
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fire & Security Project Manager (freelance or permanent)
- Strong technical knowledge of fire alarm, CCTV, access control, and intruder systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects and site teams simultaneously
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable working between office environments and multiple site locations
- Valid UK driving licence
- Relevant industry qualifications (preferred)
