We are recruiting skilled engineers to join one of London's leading bus operators working an alternating early late shift pattern for £32 per hour, maintaining modern fleets that keep the capital moving safely and reliably every day.

The Role

As a PSV Technician, you'll play a vital role in ensuring vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability and performance.

Working alternating early and late shifts you’ll be working within a well-equipped workshop where you'll carry out scheduled servicing, inspections, diagnostics and repairs to minimise vehicle downtime and maximise fleet availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on buses and coaches.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
  • Complete safety inspections and preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer and DVSA standards.
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and ensure they remain fully roadworthy.
  • Respond to breakdowns and carry out repairs efficiently.
  • Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults.
  • Accurately complete maintenance records and job documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the engineering team to achieve fleet availability targets.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health & Safety policies and company procedures.

What We're Looking For

  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, IMI or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Previous experience working on PSV, HGV, LGV or other heavy vehicles.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
  • Good understanding of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • PSV licence is advantageous but not essential.
