HEAD OF HEALTH & SAFETY / HEAD OF HSE – LONDON
Up to £75,000 Per Annum + Performance Related Bonus + Car / Car Allowance + Free TfL Travel + Pension
We’re looking for an experienced and influential Head of Health & Safety / Head of HSE to lead the health and safety strategy across London operations.
This is a highly visible role requiring regular presence across London sites. While there may be flexibility to work remotely when appropriate, this is not a predominantly home-based position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Health & Safety strategy across London operations
- Provide expert advice and guidance to senior leaders and operational teams
- Drive a proactive, positive and accountable safety culture
- Monitor safety performance, identify trends and lead continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, regulatory requirements and company standards
- Oversee significant incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are implemented
- Provide constructive challenge and assurance to operational and engineering leaders
- Develop effective risk management, audit and assurance processes
- Maintain a strong and visible presence across operational locations
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and key external stakeholders
You’ll Ideally Bring
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 Health & Safety qualification
- Chartered IOSH membership, or demonstrable progress towards Chartered status
- Significant Health & Safety leadership experience within a large, complex operational organisation
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice
- Experience developing and implementing H&S strategy
- Strong investigation, risk management, audit and assurance experience
- The confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- A practical, visible and hands-on approach to safety leadership
