The Opportunity

We are a specialist recruitment agency currently working on behalf of a well‑established fire and security contractor. Due to an increasing project pipeline, they are seeking an experienced Freelance Fire & Security Project Manager to oversee projects across multiple sites while also working from their office base. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven freelance professional who is comfortable managing projects end‑to‑end and liaising with multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage fire and security projects from design through to installation and commissioning
  • Oversee multiple live sites, ensuring delivery to programme, budget, and compliance standards
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Attend site meetings and carry out site inspections as required
  • Ensure all works comply with relevant British Standards and industry regulations (e.g. BS 5839, BS 5266, NSI/BAFE where applicable)
  • Manage documentation, RAMS, variations, and progress reporting
  • Coordinate office‑based planning with on‑site delivery

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Fire & Security Project Manager (freelance or permanent)
  • Strong technical knowledge of fire alarm, CCTV, access control, and intruder systems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and site teams simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working between office environments and multiple site locations
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • Relevant industry qualifications (preferred)
