What a Deputy General Manager Does

  • You own the operation, working closely with the management team to deliver a best-in-class guest experience.
  • You will work closely with the General Manager to control costs and support P&L management.
  • You lead the hotel team, managing performance, absence and maintain standards.
  • You manage guest expectations, problem solve, turn negatives into positives and use your experience to make sure complaints are dealt with effectively.
  • You ensure our people are safe, proactively managing risk and ensuring compliance of Health and Safety policy and procedures.
  • You develop both yourself and others, identifying talent and act as a mentor.
  • You train your team, ensuring 100% completion of mandatory training.
  • You make good decisions to manage profitability and maximise sales opportunities.
  • You create a culture of high performance working by open and honest communication and effective feedback.
