Location: Based from our Gourock Faulds Park location with travel across our ports and vessels as required. Contract: Fixed Term Contract for approximately 6 months, full time 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday Salary: Circa £75k plus benefits including car allowance and depending on skills and experience We are looking for an experienced Shore Support Manager (Acting) for a min of 6 months to lead our Shore Support team, delivering critical maintenance, repair and technical engineering services across CalMac's fleet. Reporting to the Head of Shore Support & Logistics , you will play a key role in ensuring vessel safety, compliance, reliability and operational performance. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a driven engineering professional with proven experience managing teams of Service Engineers and technical specialists in a fast-paced operational environment. What You'll Be Responsible For Leading shore-based engineering and technical support for vessels in service, dry dock and repair periods. Managing and developing a team of Service Engineers and technical personnel. Driving safety, compliance and operational excellence across all Shore Support activities. Overseeing workshop operations, ensuring adherence to all health, safety and environmental requirements. Managing departmental budgets, forecasting and cost control. Delivering continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reliability and value for money. Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and ensuring customer-focused service delivery. What We're Looking For HNC, HND or Degree-level qualification in an Engineering discipline. Significant experience in engineering maintenance, repair and technical support environments. Proven experience managing Service Engineers and technical teams is highly desirable Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop and performance-manage teams. Experience managing budgets, KPIs and continuous improvement programmes. Excellent understanding of health, safety, compliance and engineering standards. Why Join Us?
