At CalMac, we are building for the future. As part of our ambition to strengthen how we deliver change, we are creating an in‑house Business Analysis Centre of Excellence and we’re looking for an experienced, confident Business Analyst to play a key role in making that vision a reality. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Change & Programme Governance team, working at the heart of transformation across the organisation and supporting CalMac’s future growth plans.

As a Business Analyst, you will act as a key liaison between business areas, digital and delivery teams, translating complex needs into clear, practical solutions that enable successful change.

  • Investigate, analyse and document business requirements
  • Design and model business processes and assess the impact of change
  • Support the delivery of complex projects from early discovery through to implementation and BAU handover
  • Analyse and gather both functional and non‑functional business requirements
  • Define, document and validate end‑to‑end solutions using recognised analysis techniques and methodologies
  • Support solution validation, user acceptance testing and implementation activity
  • Create high quality documentation including process maps, business cases, user guides and impact assessments

Accredited BCS Diploma in Business Analysis

Relevant experience working in a Business Analyst role

Proven experience delivering business change using a range of methodologies

Strong analytical skills with a track record of translating business needs into operational requirements

Experience conducting gap analysis, options analysis and business impact assessments

Experience supporting UAT, implementation and post‑delivery transition
