Installation Supervisor at Calderys
Based in Ellesmere Port, this role involves leading and supporting installation projects across the UK and occasionally Europe. You’ll play a key part in ensuring projects are delivered safely on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Independently prepare and manage installation services
- Supervise and execute refractory lining projects (teams of 1–30 per shift)
- Plan, schedule, and allocate manpower, tools, and materials
- Record hours, allowances, and subcontractor data accurately
- Carry out service calls for repairs and fault analysis
- Support commissioning activities and provide technical guidance on dry outs
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company safety standards
- Act as the main point of contact for clients onsite
- Collaborate with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Maintain project documentation, including QA/QC reports
- Mentor and guide staff to encourage continuous improvement
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the refractory industry
- Forklift licence
- Willingness to travel across the UK and Europe
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience in refractory installation, maintenance, and supervision (steel, cement, glass, aluminium & petrochemical industries)
- Knowledge of furnace construction
- Proficiency in MS Office, and CAD (ability to read drawings)
- IOSH Safety training (or equivalent)
