Year groups of 265+ students mean real breadth and ambition in what we deliver, and we’re proud of it. Now we’re looking for a talented, passionate Teacher of MFL to join a department that genuinely makes a difference.
French is taught at KS3 and KS4; Spanish is taught throughout the school from KS3 to KS5. The successful candidate will teach French at KS3 and KS4, and Spanish at KS3 and KS4 (with desirability to teach Spanish to KS5). Applications from ECTs are warmly welcomed.
The MFL department is housed on the top corridor of our Arts Wing, comprising six purpose-built, modern, spacious teaching rooms each with a large stockroom and an interactive whiteboard. We have access to ICT suites across the site and a wide range of excellent resources, supporting a well‑resourced, well‑led department with a strong team culture.
Calderstones is a large, richly diverse 11–18 comprehensive adjacent to Calderstones Park and oversubscribed in every year group. Staff turnover is exceptionally low, reflecting a supportive working environment. We hold that every student and staff member deserves a first‑class education and maintain a standard of ‘Good’ in all areas as rated by Ofsted in 2023.
